Amc 360 Harmonic Balancer Bolt Torque. i was installing it last night with a harmonic balancer installer and it became very difficult to move the harmonic. The motor is seized and will not turn when. I put mine on and tightened it as much as i can, and ended up 1 1/8 inch inside the balancer to the edge of oil pan. i have a torque command transmission that was removed from a 360 engine. Or do u slide it on and tighten the bolt until you nuts fall off? Is this trans going to be ok for my. when installing the harmonic balancer, do you put it on and tighten the bolt until you reach the torque spec. on the auto trans i removed the small rubber cover on the bottom of the bell housing and used a large pry bar to hold. i'm trying to remove the harmonic balancer on an amc 360 i pulled. on the gen 3 amc v8s, the harmonic balancer and flexplate/flywheel is a specific balance to each engine size,.
